To qualify for a Master of Divinity or Master of Arts degree at Westminster
Seminary California, a student must fulfill the following academic requirements:
Courses:
Must have successfully completed the prescribed program of required and elective
courses for the degree as outlined in the catalogue in effect when the student
enrolled.
Knowledge of Biblical Languages:
Must have knowledge of Hebrew and Greek equivalent to that taught in the
Seminary’s prescribed propaedeutic courses in the biblical languages.
Knowledge of the English Bible:
Must pass the English Bible Exam, or pass OT520 English Bible Survey with a
grade of B- or above.
Graduate Theological Writing:
Must initially submit an acceptable research paper, or pass PT400 Graduate
Theological Writing.
Minimum Grade Point Average:
Must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 or higher at the completion
of required course work.
Public Speaking (M.Div. only):
Demonstrate adequate oral communication skills or successfully complete PT410
Oral Communication.
Field Education (M.Div. only):
Must fulfill the Field Education requirement.
Residence:
Must be enrolled at Westminster Seminary California at the time of the
completion of the program, unless prior permission has been received from the
Faculty to complete degree requirements as a non-matriculated student at another
institution and to transfer the credit into the Westminster Seminary California
program.
