General Financial Aid Fund
These grants are awarded on an annual basis and applied equally each semester towards tuition. If the student's financial situation changes drastically during the year (up or down), a reconsideration of the grant may be requested. Grants from this fund are made through the Financial Aid Committee, which makes provisional awards to accepted students on a rolling basis after the FAFSA and WSC Application for Financial Aid are received.

The General Financial Aid Fund provides need-based grants to students meeting the general requirements specified above. The grants are awarded on an annual basis and applied equally to both fall and spring semester tuition charges.

Grants from this fund are processed through the Financial Aid Office, which determines awards based upon the submitted FAFSA and WSC Application for Financial Aid. All applications for admission and financial aid for the upcoming academic year should be submitted by April 1 for full consideration. For those students who are beginning their studies in the winter or spring, we recommend that all applications be submitted by November 1. Continuing students must resubmit the WSC Application for Financial Aid and FAFSA each academic year in order to retain this grant.

Forms Required:
- FAFSA for upcoming academic year
- WSC Application for Financial Aid

CHURCH GRANTS

Church Matching Grant
This matching grant brings churches and the Seminary together for support of students during their first full year. The Seminary's contribution to the matching grant is provided by the income from an endowment established by long-time friends of the seminary to help churches actively support seminarians and to share in the great task of theological education.

The number of grants from this fund is limited by the annual income from the endowment. The Seminary, within this limitation, will match the contribution of a congregation up to a maximum of $1,000 per student. This grant is not based on financial need. The church's contribution to the matching grant should come from the student's home church and is available only for the first full year of study at the Seminary. (Although WSC will match the contribution up to $1,000, the church’s contribution may exceed this amount.)

Forms Required: Dated letter from the student’s home church (on letterhead) stating that they are selecting the student to receive the matching grant, along with a check.

United Reformed Churches (URC) Matching Grant
These grants, established by friends of the Seminary, will match the support of a United Reformed Church (URC) or classis of a first year student up to a maximum of $1,000. Three grants are available each year and are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis to URC students who have been accepted for full time studies. More information about this award can be obtained from the Dean of Students or the admissions office.

Forms Required: Letter requesting consideration for this award

The recipient of this scholarship will be an Hispanic student with demonstrated financial need, enrolled as a full time student in a degree program at Westminster Seminary California, whose intention is to later minister to the Hispanic population either within the US or another country.

The award will be reviewed annually and can be renewed for the student who has done adequate work at the Seminary and continues to have financial need. The application made to the Dean of Students consists of a letter (no more than two pages, typed) describing the applicant’s spiritual background, demonstrated financial need, and goals and plans for ministry.
