Welcome back to another challenging and rewarding semester at WSC! Although you are just starting the spring semester, it is time to look forward to the 2008-2009 academic year for financial aid purposes. During the spring semester the WSC Financial Aid committee will be reviewing all scholarships for renewal. You are receiving this letter because you were awarded financial aid in 2007-2008. If you would like to renew your scholarship(s), you will need to request renewal of your financial awards by submitting a renewal letter to the financial aid committee. This letter, addressed to the committee, should be no more than one page, doubled-spaced, and include the following information:

• which scholarships you have received,
• your current progress towards your degree,
• your current grade point average,
• how your education has benefited you both academically and spiritually,
• your current ecclesiastical affiliation, and
• your financial need.

Your letter should be submitted to the front office before March 15, 2008. If you do not submit this request, we will assume that you do not wish to renew these awards and you will not be considered for scholarship(s)/grant renewal in the coming academic school year.

In addition to the letter, you also need to renew your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Please be advised that you should complete all tax forms prior to the completion of your FAFSA. If you do not, you will be required to update your FAFSA once your taxes are completed in order to accurately assess your Estimated Family Contribution (EFC). You will also need to fill out the WSC Financial Aid Application 2008-2009. Once the FAFSA and WSC Financial Aid application are received, your eligibility for a grant will also be reviewed. Please contact either Heather Gideon or Brian Mills if you have any questions.

Once your letter, application, and FAFSA are received, the committee will review your record to ensure that you still meet the eligibility requirements, such as minimum GPA, required for your awards. Please refer to the current catalogue if you have questions about these requirements.
