A Bibliography of Historical Theology and
Historiography
Note: This bibliography is intended to alert HT
students to the existence of some important and/or useful works
for students of historical theology. I have omitted standard
works in church history (e.g., Schaff) and reference works,
since they are available in the reference room of our library.
Because students in this program need to be aware of various
historiographic theories, I have included several works
focused on historical theory and method and a few specialized
works (e.g., Mullers Post-Reformation Reformed Dogmatics)
which contain discussions of methodology. Because this course
includes a discussion of the nature of the academy, I have also
included works on that topic and the history of science.
