30 Years and Building…A Historical Timeline of WSC
1980 August   First class begins in an unfinished building, The Center at San Marcos, with 25 full-time students.
1982 May   Robert B. Strimple is appointed first president of WSC.
1984 January   Classes begin on new campus in Escondido.
1984 June   WSC receives accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) in the span of 2 years.
1988 Fall   Robert G. den Dulk becomes second president of WSC.
1992 Fall   WSC becomes an associate member of the Association of Theological Studies (ATS).
1993 Fall   W. Robert Godfrey becomes third and current president of WSC.
1997 Fall   WSC is accredited by ATS.
2008   WSC alumni exceeds 700.
2010   WSC Celebrates 30th Anniversary

  • All 12 full-time faculty of Westminster Seminary California are ordained ministers who serve in local United Reformed Churches in North America (URCNA), Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC), and Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) congregations.
     
  • All 3 presidents of Westminster Seminary California have been named "Bob": Robert B. Strimple, Robert G. den Dulk, and W. Robert Godfrey.
     
  • There were 7 students in the first graduating class from Westminster Seminary California in 1982.
     
  • 8 of Westminster Seminary California’s 12 full-time faculty members are WSC alumni.
     
  • WSC faculty has published over 400 books, articles, and other writings.
