WSC's annual den Dulk Lectures on Pastoral Ministry was held
on March 4-6 at 10 a.m. in the WSC Chapel. This year’s guest
speaker was the Rev. Dr. Wilson Benton, recently retired
senior pastor of Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church (PCA)
in St. Louis. Dr. Benton lectured on "Critical Aspects of
the Pastor’s Life: Pastoring, Planning and Parenting."
Dr. Benton lectured on Tuesday and Wednesday, while on
Thursday Mrs. Benton addressed the group, including 26
prospective students who were a part of Seminary for a Day.
Mrs. Benton covered the “Parenting” section of the
three-part lecture, give a helpful perspective to M.Div.
students.
The Seminary welcomed Dr. and Mrs. Benton by holding a
reception with the faculty. An additional pizza lunch,
sponsored by the Student Association, provided the
opportunity for a question and answer time with the
students.
This special lecture series is sponsored by the friends of
Bob and Nellie den Dulk for the purpose of bringing an
experienced minister on campus to provide wisdom and insight
to WSC M.Div. students. The lectures are open to the public,
including pastors from the local area. |
