Registrar’s Office

In addition to being the official custodian of academic records, the Registrar oversees course scheduling, course registration, graduation, and publication of the Academic Catalogue. The Registrar is also the seminary’s primary School Certifying Official for the Veterans Administration.

The WSC Registrar is typically available during normal business hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. PT (Mon-Fri).

Other Helpful Information for Students

Transcripts

An official WSC transcript is a certified statement of a student’s academic work at Westminster Seminary California. Such transcripts list all completed courses (including grades) and all courses in progress. Official transcripts are either delivered electronically or are printed on security sensitive paper, containing the seminary seal and the signature of the Registrar, and mailed to the recipient(s) designated by the student. For your protection, WSC will release an official copy of your transcript only at your request.

In order to release your official transcript, you will need to complete the Transcript Request Form (online form).

(Note: current and former students may access their unofficial transcript via Populi, our student information system. If you are unable to access your Populi profile, please contact the Registrar at [email protected].)

Financial Aid

Westminster Seminary California’s financial aid program is available to provide degree-seeking students (MA/MDiv) with the financial resources necessary to complete their seminary education. The financial aid program is designed to supplement each student’s own financial resources (i.e. savings, family and church support, and part-time employment) through a combination of scholarships, grants, and student loans. Financial aid information for new and returning students is available here.

Students with specific questions related to financial aid are encouraged to contact the Financial Aid Office.

International Students

Prospective and current international students may direct questions and concerns to the Senior Enrollment Specialist. Additional information for international students is available here.

Employment

Various on and off-campus employment opportunities are provided to WSC students through the seminary listserv. See also:

Housing

Westminster Seminary California is proud to provide spacious and affordable on-campus housing for many of our students. You can learn more about our on-campus student housing (known as the Village) here.

For new and returning students who live off campus, the Office of Admissions is available to assist you in finding suitable accommodations by providing informative resources on housing opportunities in the community. These opportunities include rooms, houses, or apartments for rent in Escondido and elsewhere in San Diego County.

Health Insurance

Due to the inherent financial risks of accident or illness, WSC strongly encourages all students and their dependents to possess adequate health insurance. It is recommended that students seek out private insurance options in addition to those offered through Covered California.  International students must have health insurance while enrolled at WSC and should consider the options provided by ISO Insurance or International Student Insurance.

For information regarding health insurance options, students should contact the WSC Financial Aid Office.

Veteran’s Administration Educational Benefits

Eligible veterans may receive GI Bill® education benefits at Westminster Seminary California through either the Montgomery GI Bill or the Post 9/11 GI Bill®. The VA Post 9/11 GI Bill provides funds for tuition and fees, as well as a monthly housing allowance and book stipend based on the length of time served after September 11, 2001. Veterans must contact the VA directly to determine their eligibility. Contact the Registrar’s Office for more information and to begin enrollment certification.

Because current annual costs for tuition and fees at WSC are lower than the maximum amount that the VA will reimburse, WSC is not eligible to participate in the Yellow Ribbon program. Students who are eligible to receive 100% of the educational benefits payable by the VA and who have a sufficient number of months of eligibility remaining can have the full cost of tuition and fees (in addition to a living stipend and a book stipend, if eligible) paid by the VA while attending WSC.

GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). More information about education benefits offered by the VA is available at the official U.S. government website at https://www.benefits.va.gov/gibill.
