Alumni Spotlight: Rev. Zach Keele

MDIV, 2003

Rev. Zach Keele has maintained strong ties with Westminster Seminary California since his graduation in 2003. In addition to serving as the lead pastor of Escondido OPC, he has become a familiar face to WSC students as an Adjunct Professor for more than 15 years. Although he has taught everything from Greek 1 to Oral Communication, Rev. Keele’s sweet spot is English Bible Survey – a semester-long overview of the structure, content, and chronology of the Old and New Testaments through the lens of redemptive history.

At the urging of a persistent student, he adapted this course into book form and recently published The Unfolding Word: The Story of the Bible from Creation to New Creation in partnership with Lexham Press. In this unique work, Rev. Keele traces the overarching narrative of Scripture from Genesis all the way to Revelation. His other publications include Sacred Bond: Covenant Theology Explored, numerous articles for Modern Reformation and New Horizons, and a study of Judges that he wrote specifically for Rafiki Bible Study. In addition to pastoring, teaching, and writing, he chairs the Credentials Committee for the OPC’s Presbytery of Southern California which examines candidates for ordination and licensure. Reflecting on his education at WSC, Keele said, “it’s prepared me for pretty much everything I do.”
