Rev. Ted Hamilton speaks at the den Dulk lectures

This week, WSC hosts Rev. Ted Hamilton for the Robert G. and Nellie B. den Dulk lectures with his series, “Is the Local Church Too Small a Thing for You?” Rev. Hamilton will be speaking on how cultural values and the pride of our hearts influence our attitudes toward ministry and our actions in ministry, and how God's Word provides the corrective paradigm that shapes how we should see ourselves and how we should pastor, lead and live with God's people.

Ted is a native Southern Californian. He did his undergraduate work at Stanford University. Upon graduation, Ted worked in defense procurement at Ford Aerospace for two years. Ted returned to Stanford and received his law degree at Stanford Law School, after which he joined O’Melveny & Myers and practiced corporate and tax law there for 14 years, the last five as a Partner. Ted resigned from O’Melveny in 1997 and enrolled at Westminster Seminary California in Escondido. He graduated in 2000 and served as the Pastor of Adult Ministries at Voyagers Bible Church in Irvine. After a year in that role, Ted received the call from New Life Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Escondido to be its Senior Pastor in 2001, where he continues to serve. Ted is also an Adjunct Professor of Practical Theology and at-large board member of WSC. The love of Ted’s life is his wife, Linda. They together take great joy in their family – daughter, Sarah, and son, Jim – who with their spouses have added four beautiful grandchildren to the mix. Ted loves the outdoors and is passionate about fly fishing, backpacking and skiing.
