Psalm 102:25-27 praises God as the eternal Creator, whose divine
immutability stands in sharp contrast to the transient and decaying heavens
and earth that he made. Hebrews shows us that this Psalm reveals the eternal
permanence of God's Son, our Savior, Jesus. Throughout the epistle we
discover that Christ's eternal permanence qualifies him to be our eternal
priest, ever praying for us (7:23-25); our eternal king, whose reign will
last until the last enemy is vanquished (10:12); and our eternal shepherd,
who never leaves us though human leaders come and go (13:7, 17, 20-21).
