Multiplication

Resident Faculty, Dennis E. Johnson   |   September 6, 2016   |   New Testament, Acts   |  Type: Morning Devotions Series, Acts 6:1-7

The Jerusalem church’s appointment of seven servants to care for widows is a pivotal event in the spread of Christ’s gospel after the Holy Spirit’s descent at Pentecost. In the fall 2016 semester, a series of meditations will explore six themes that intersect in Acts 6, themes that should control our perspectives and priorities in the church today. The first theme is “multiplication”: Our Lord delights in gathering huge crowds to experience his grace and celebrate his glory.
